Kohila Curry
Kohila is one of the vegetables widely eaten in sri lanka & kohila comes in many varieties., such as kiri kohila, guru kohila, wel kohila & goda kohila. The tuber of the kiri kohila is tastier & boils easily. Kohila tubers, roots and leaves are used as medicine, They contain a lot of fibers & known to be very cooling as a vegetable. Known as an Ayurvedic vegetable in sri lanka & easy to find in any part of the country.
Today we are going to do a Kiri Kohila curry for you all cookery lovers & we post you the basic recipe.
Ingredients
- 100 g kiri kohila thinly stripped or cut
- some curry leaves
- 1tsp mustard seeds
- some onion sliced
- some garlic sliced
- some green chillis
- 1tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 raw curry powder
- 1tsp chilli powder
- 1tsp tumaric powder
- 200 ml coconut milk
- salt and pepper
Method
Step 1
Add some oil in a pan or clay pot & saute onion,mustard,cumin and garlic, then add curry powder,chilli and tumaric and saute for 1 minute more.
Step 2
Soon after add the kohila in to the pan or pot. Follow with coconut milk and reduce the fire and cook for a few minutes
Step 3
Add salt and pepper to taste.
